Al-Ghabban: Investing patents will contribute in developing the knowledge-based national economy

The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, received a delegation from the Iraqi Center for Innovation and Creativity (the Iraqi Inventors Forum) headed by Prof. Zaidoun Khalaf Al-Saadi and his accompanying delegation in the presence of the university’s assistants for scientific affairs Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul-Dahd and the administrator, Prof. Dr. Hussein Hamid Karim And Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sukkar from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University.

 Al-Ghabban referred to the importance of industrial applicable patents as they are considered a wealth in the development of the national economy based on knowledge, as he emphasized that the University of Technology has more than 500 patents for invention and industrial models in all disciplines On the other hand, the university sought to encourage and support the culture of scientific invention for all its cadres. Teaching staff, as well as supporting young university students in this field.

Al-Saadi expressed his deep thanks to the University of Technology for the scientific interest and encouragement he saw for the category of inventors and innovators and their role in community service. He added that the number of patents in Iraq has exceeded 7000 patents for invention and a registered industrial model, and that the process of investing them will form a link for the marketing of knowledge, in addition to the participation of Iraqi delegations in all international exhibitions and conferences, the focus of attention of all international arbitration committees, because of the importance of these patents in terms of technology and application and on In a related context, it was agreed to hold a joint international conference and exhibition during the activities of the University of Technology for the next year 2021, as well as to organize a joint scientific cooperation message between the two parties.

It is worth noting that the Iraqi Innovation and Creativity Center includes in its membership more than three thousand Iraqi scientists and academics who are inventors from various ministries and state institutions, in addition to the Iraqi private sector.
