The Ministry of Higher Education and scientific Research supervised the inauguration of Prostheses and supports Project at Erbil Technical University And in coordination with the Federal Ministry of Health and Ministries of Education and Health in the Kurdistan Region The General Director of the Studies, Planning, and Follow-up Department, Dr. Ihab Naji Abbas, delivered a speech during the opening activities: This project is the first of its kind in Iraq, and the graduates of this discipline will contribute to the field of manufacturing and forming Prostheses and supports Project of high international quality and support centers, support and physical rehabilitation of Health Ministry. He added that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research had a high level of coordination with the Ministry of Health as well as health and education institutions in the region in approving curricula, quality standards and requirements, and studying the proposals submitted by the experts of ICRC. He emphasized that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research seeks to expand this experiment horizontally to include the opening of corresponding departments in other governorates to enable Iraqi students to obtain certificates of accurate specialization in Prostheses and supports limbs field within medical and health techniques field , pointing out that an agreement has been reached with the International Committee of the Red Cross to obtain international accreditation in this discipline within limited and studied time.
