Lecturers from Control and Systems Engineering Department Dr. Safana Mudher Raft participated in writing three chapters and Dr. Firas Abdul Razzaq in two chapters in the book published by Springer the Publishing house: (progress in mathematics to build sustainable ecosystems)

The book focuses on the method that can be protected environment and enhance environmental sustainability when faced changes and pressures of our expanding needs. The book deals with the study of multiple areas within the theme of sustainability, and the empowerment of techniques and philosophy to be applied to the fields of research in environmental sciences, botany, energy, biodiversity and environmental conservation.
The chapters cover many topics such as mathematical modeling tools used to monitor diversity of plant species, and the stability of ecosystem services.
The book deals with the modeling of rainfall and floods, which gives a better idea of the impacts of climate change on the sustainability of water resources in watersheds. It has been studied a modeling approach that provides readers with acuity into the global problem of energy transformation, that is, the switch to an energy production system by using renewable sources only.
