Granting the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control in the Ministry of Planning Teaching at the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Rahik Ismail Ibrahim of the Department of Electromechanical Engineering and Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahim Thiab Hammoud of the Department of Electrical Engineering and in conjunction with senior engineer Najat Abdul Zahra Issa from the Ministry of Planning Department Government Investment Patent for "Design and Implementation of Automatic Control Circuit to Avoid Sediment and Improve Energy Efficiency in Steam Boilers".
The invention relates to improving the energy efficiency of steam boilers through the design and manufacture of an automatic control system to control the limestone salts formed within the boiler water during the process of steam production and the recovery of energy lost from water discharged during surface blowdown. According to this invention, the salt concentration within the boiler water is controlled by an electronic control circuit which analyzes the measured signals of the salt concentration using a conductivity measuring device and compares those signals with predetermined reference points to represent the minimum and maximum concentrations allowed within the steam boiler room and when the total concentration arrives. For the dissolved salts to the upper limit, the control circuit generates a signal to activate the work of the boiler blow-off water discharge valve with flow control device to determine the flow rate of the discharged water. The minimum allowable concentration, where the control circuit generates a signal to close the discharge valve
