Construction and Building Engineering Department at the University of Technology organized a scientific symposium entitled:
"Advanced techniques in road maintenance to improve traffic flow and management"
And the central hall of the department in the presence of the President of the University of Technology Prof.Dr.Amin Douai Thamer and the head of Construction and Building Engineering Department Assc.Prof.Dr.Hassan Hamoudi and Senior Engineer Hossam Fadel Al Amiri ,Assistant General Director of Roads & Bridges Directorate and Assc.Prof.Dr. Amjad Hamad from the University of Baghdad
The President of the University of Technology delivered a welcoming speech explaining the importance of the topic and the "outstanding efforts of the department in establishing such seminars that will raise the level of scientific and applied university and help decision makers and government institutions concerned to make the appropriate decision.
The head of Construction and Building Engineering Department said that the department is interested in holding specialized seminars and providing studies on important topics for the society. The seminar highlighted the importance of scientific symposium titled "Advanced techniques in road maintenance and management to improve the flow of traffic and its management, aiming to inform the participants about methods of road maintenance in asphalt tiles and how to choose a replacement maintenance that meets the appropriate standards, because of the maintenance of the road network in Iraq of many problems, the most important lack of activation of the maintenance system significantly effective and influential as well as the budget specified For the departments and institutions concerned with the maintenance of the roads, which perform their activities within them.
The seminar included lectures on the types of failure in flexible tiling, rigid tiling, and types of maintenance of roads, the most common types of maintenance, in addition to the modern methods of maintenance in asphalt tiling, in addition to the use of some techniques to facilitate alternative selection or maintenance and take appropriate decision.
The seminar dealt with the most important problems and challenges in the maintenance of asphalt roads in Iraq, the methods of maintenance of roads common in the asphalt pavement and methods of implementation, the use of scientific research to develop alternatives and strategies for maintenance and rehabilitation of roads, based on "modern technologies
