The Ministry of Planning / Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control granted a patent
Lecturer of materials engineering department at the University of Technology, Asst .Prof. Dr Sihamah Issa Saleh Al-Shalaji and Asst Asst .Prof. Dr Fadel Abbas Hashim and Babil University, Faculty of Materials Engineering, Asst .Prof. Dr Awda Jabbar Barihi Al-Masoudi, for the production of super-absorbent nano-polymer nanoparticles from the harmful Nile seed herb and its use in the chemical, anti-desertification and rheumatism families.
The patent included the exploitation of the high absorbency status of the harmful Nile flower plant to be used in the manufacture of super absorbent polymers. For the treatment of rheumatism patients for a longer period, and for rationalizing irrigation water and combating desertification. The cellulose was extracted from the harmful Nile flower herb and then transformed into a soluble derivative, sodium carbonoxide methyl cellulose using appropriate physiochemical and chemical treatments.
The behavior of the bulge was studied with different saline solutions of different concentrations and solutions of different acid grades. The absorption of these compounds showed significant effect on the pH and a clear decrease in the concentration of saline solution. The addition of nanoparticles increased the uptake of the prepared polymer mixture by 20% and proved that it can be used in applications of concrete, For patients with rheumatism for long periods of heat, and combating desertification because of its high ability to rationalize water irrigation.
