Environmental Research Center holds a workshop on green growth towards sustainable development
The Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology held a workshop entitled Green Growth: Towards Sustainable Development, and the lecture was given by the head of the Department of Sustainable Development, L. Dr. Abbas Jawad Kazem, in the presence of a number of teaching staff, employees of the center, researchers and academics interested in sustainable development issues.
The workshop was opened by giving comprehensive introductory lectures that addressed the importance of green growth and achieving sustainable development. He stated that this workshop is a continuation of a promising work program prepared by the Center in the field of spreading awareness and a comprehensive definition of the goals of sustainable development.
The lecturer stressed the importance of the vital role played by educational and research institutions in spreading awareness and enhancing efforts aimed at achieving sustainable development goals. This requires adopting sustainable environmental policies and practices to achieve a balance between economic development and environmental preservation.
The workshop concluded with constructive recommendations on how to apply green growth concepts in various sectors and the importance of cooperation between academic, governmental and private bodies to achieve a sustainable future for future generations.
