The Environmental Research Center participates in National Afforestation Day: Realizing the Sustainability Vision
In a step that confirms their strong commitment to protecting the environment and promoting environmental awareness, members of the Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology participated in a positive and generous spirit in the National Afforestation Day launched by the Prime Minister, which was officially adopted on March 12 of each year.
With an inspiring initiative, the Center planted rose seedlings and some evergreen trees in the garden opposite the Computer Engineering Department, as an effective contribution to efforts to preserve the environment and achieve environmental balance.
This process took place amid joy and celebration that overwhelmed the university, as it witnessed the presence of the President of the University of Technology, Professor Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghaban, the University’s Scientific Assistant, Professor Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, and the Administrative Assistant, Professor Dr. Farhad Muhammad Othman, thanks to his cooperation with the Karrada Municipality Department and in coordination with the Agricultural Department. At the university, the center contributed to this campaign by planting 20 seedlings of various types of evergreen trees, which tolerate high temperatures and water scarcity, in addition to 60 seedlings of seasonal roses.
This initiative comes within the framework of the Centre’s commitment to implementing its vision of achieving sustainable development goals and promoting environmental and social sustainability.
The Environmental Research Center's participation in National Afforestation Day reflects the high spirit of social and environmental responsibility, and highlights its commitment to supporting efforts to preserve the environment and promote sustainability. It is an important step towards building a better and more sustainable future for all.
