Petroleum Technology Dept. holds a Scientific Symposium
Under the patronage of the President of UOT, Prof. Dr. Ahmed M. Hassan Al-Ghabban, and under the supervision of the head of the dept., Prof. Dr. Fadhel S. Kazim, Petroleum Technology Dept. held the scientific symposium entitled (Prospects for Oil Exploration in Developing Oil Fields) via online platform in the presence of a large number of researchers and instructors within the department And outside.
The symposium aimed that the energy sector is witnessing wide pressures for the increase demand from one side and the increase of global competition.
On the other hand, which forces institutions to focus on developing engineering competencies in order to fully and optimally benefit from oil resources, as the Petroleum Technology Dept. is looking to create a new engineering branch entitled: Oil and Gas Exploration Engineering, through which the graduate is awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Exploration Engineering Oil and gas within four academic years.
The symposium included giving scientific lectures on geological exploration and the role of geophysics in oil and gas exploration and the importance of introducing oil and gas exploration engineering branch in the department.
The head of the Dept. appreciated the efforts of the scientific and preparatory committees and the participating professors for the success of this symposium.
