Al-Gabban Chairs Discussion Committee

Prof.Dr.Ahmed Al-Gabban, President of University of Technplogy, chaired on Wednesday,Nov.25.2020 a discussion committee in Materials Engineering Department at the University with the attendance of vice-minister of transportation Talib Abdullah, vice-minister of water-resources Hussein Abdul-Ameer, head of materials engineering department Asst. Prof. Dr. Hussein Alaa and his deputy for scientific affairs Lect. Dr. Mohanned Najah and number of faculty.

The discussion committee included Asst.Prof.Dr.Basma Mohameed, Asst. Prof.Dr.Mayada Abd as members and Asst.Prof.Dr.Farhad Mohameed and Asst.Prof.Dr.Ala'a Alaaldeen as supervisors.

Ala'a Zamil, the MS student, suggested in her thesis that the self-healing concrete approach is to control cracking at an early age than the concrete's age, some aims at improving the natural self-healing mechanism for automatic fracturing by using fibers as a practical application to modify concrete by inserting small capsules with appropriate healing agents so that cracks heal independently after their appearance.
