MSc discusses a proposal for a security system based on the wireless sensor network

The thesis titled "The proposal for a security system based on the wireless sensor network for the student (Maha Salah Asad Taha)" included five chapters, the first and second, theoretical background, the third chapter, developing simulation and adaptive safety, the fourth chapter, implementation results and evaluation, and the fifth chapter conclusions and suggestions for future work.

The thesis aims to propose an adaptive security method based on the software engineering of the wireless sensor network. This method includes two parts, the first is authentication and the second is the adaptive data encryption, as this network has become a practical solution for many difficult applications as the security science of software engineering for the wireless sensor network provides four goals, including: That is confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and availability.

This message discussed the adoption of the key management protocol and light authentication in the proposed authentication part and this protocol is improved by adding an overlap process to increase the randomness of the keys that were created and exchanged. The proposed method is called (Kath hashing) in addition to the (Salt and hash) technology and the MD5 algorithm. These technologies are used to provide an allowance to authenticate the desired node to join the network. Adaptive data encryption part uses the algorithm (RSA) with light and heavy versions based on the energy remaining from the sending nodes that send the data and the received nodes and the version is determined to ensure the availability of the security option.

The researcher concluded that testing the proposed method on studying different cases in which the results showed superior performance in terms of handling the added nodes, the process of entanglement, and the proposed method that includes aspects of software engineering and data security.

The discussion committee consisted of:

Prof. Dia Jassim Kazim from the University of Baghdad / College of Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, as Chair and Prof. Sakina Hassan Hashem from the University of Technology / Department of Computer Science, Member and Prof. Saman Hamid Amin from the University of Technology / Department of Computer Engineering, as a member and Prof. Moayad Sadiq Crook from the University of Technology / Department of Computer Engineering, Member and Supervisor.
