Civil Enineering Department Grant MSC
Civil engineering department at university of technology grnted MSC to the student Mohammed Khaeleef for his thesis "Influence of Different Rejuvenators on Performance Properties of Reclaim Asphalt Pavement (RAP)"
The thesis included searching for recycling possibility (RAP) to re-use in tiling by using four types of regenerators: waste cooking oil(WCO), waste engine oil (WEO), asphlat AC(60-7-), and asphalt AC(85-100) and illustrating their effects on different properties of RAP.
It could be concluded from this study that recycling of wastes by regenerators is an efficient process and can be applied in road constructions and achieving sustainability, as the regenerator mix can be used in hot and moderate regions because these mixes have good comparison for flattening and moisture damage in addition to good elasticity, adhesion and cohesion of the components of the mixture. Recycling process has many economic and environmental benefits by using different types of regenerators which may reduce constructions costs and environmental damages.
The discussion committee was chaired by Prof.Dr.Mohammed Abbas and the membership of Asst.Prof.Dr.Mayami Mohammed and Lect.Dr.Ammar Abbas, and both Prof.Dr.Hassan Hamoodi and Lect.Dr.Rasha Hassan as members and supervisors.
