Asst.Lect.Amir Abdullah, lecturer in Civil Engineering Department at the University of Technology present a lecture on the management of electronic grades by professors in the Department of Civil Engineering using the platform (google class) and the rest of the programs provided by the Google site for free as well as how to communicate with students electronically and give them assignments and provide them with lectures and sources electronically .The lecturer explained the program and its sections and the process of registration using the official e-mail and how to manage the electronic classroom, not to mention the answer to questions and queries to the attendance. Then, they discussed the expected problems of the experiment and the benefits that will be returned to the department and students from this new experience, as well as recommendations were given to ensure the success of the experiment. The lecture was attended by the Head of Civil Engineering and Scientific Assistant and Head of the Roads and Bridges Engineering Department and the teaching staff of the Engineering Branch of Roads and Bridges and other branches. 

English Language Center at the University of Technology held on Tuesday 16/10/2018 a workshop on teaching headway for preliminary studies. The workshop aimed at learning non-English teachers who teach the material in the scientific departments of the university how to teach Headway for preliminary studies.

Asst.Prof.Dr.Ahmd Ameed and Jabbar Mohammed have published a scientific research " experimental study for the effects of crystalline agents on properties of glass ceramic coating" in the engineering and technology magazine Vol.(36) No.(2)-2018.The study discussed the formation of four types of glass ceramic coating on cast iron plates using immersion technique. The effect of crystallization factors on the mechanical properties was distinct.

Asst.Prof.Dr.Jiwad Kadhim, Prof.Dr.Rana Afeef and Lect.Safaa Hashim have published a joint scientific research " Preparation and Characterization of Carbon Nanotubes using Carbon Black by Electrochemical Technique with Anodic Aluminium Oxide" In the Asian Journal of Chemistry within the Scopas Database Volume 30 and No. 11 of 2018.The study focused on the preparation of carbon nanotubes with electrochemical deposition inside a mold of anodized aluminum oxide to obtain regular cylindrical pores by aluminum anodization. The nanotubes were prepared from micro-sized carbon nanotubes in room temperature conditions, infrared tubes, electron microscope microscopes and atomic power microscopes. The tubes were prepared in an acid mixture to introduce functional groups on carbon tubes for later use to strengthen polymeric composites.

English Language Center at the University of Technology held a workshop for graduated students on Wendsday Oct.10^th .2018. the workshop aimed at training the students on job interviews and aswearing the questions in English. The participants were awarded certificates of participation from the center.
