The Computer Engineering Department inaugurated the Networks Lab with the support of Al-Aswar Company for General Trading and Commercial Agencies on Thursday morning, 28/11/2019 in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ibrahim J. Kazim instead of the President of the University of Technology, Dr. Ehab N. Abbas, Director General of, Planning and Follow-up Studies at the Ministry of Higher Education , Dr. Abdul S. , Prof. Dr. Hassan J. Hassan Head of Computer Engineering Department,Furthermore many department heads, professors and representatives of Aswar Company.

The opening of the lab included a number of speeches by Prof. Ibrahim J.Kazim on the President of the University, Dr. Ehab N. Abbas, Representative of the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Hassan J.Hassan, Head of Computer Engineering Department and a speech by the representative of Aswar Company.

Aswar is working in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to launch several free training programs to raise the level of graduates to cope with the requirements of the modern labor market, as it initiated to  build a number of scientific laboratories in public universities, He stressed.

The lecturer, Dr. Ahmed S.Karim from the Department of Computer Engineering, present a video about the work of the devices provided in the new laboratory which enhance the practical side of the study as well as the theoretical study of Aswar Company.

The company has several future projects, including the project of surveillance cameras for the University of Baghdad , the project of optical cable , training and graduation of more than 1200 students to qualify for a global certificate and allow them to participate in advanced practical tests, The representative of Aswar Company said.

At the end of, the University Shield was distributed to the representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Director of Aswar Company.

(Improved key component analysis using Gaussian Blur Filter)

In the Iraqi Journal of Science issued by the College of Science / University of Baghdad.

The idea of ​​research is that extracting the characteristics is the most important step in dealing with image discrimination, which makes the contents of the image as perfect as possible.

It uses a camouflage blur filter to remove noise and add purity to images. The main component analysis algorithm is an easy and efficient way to derive vector properties, reduce data set dimensions, remove noise from images, and improve component analysis to extract properties more effectively in recall and accuracy.

Information Technology Unit at Al-Hickam University College hosted the ministerial team of e-learning to hold a workshop about e-learning in application the college.

The workshop was held by Dr. Uday A. Ahmed, UOT representative and the lecturer in Electrical Engineering Department, by delivered his lecture about e-learning project, one of the ministerial projects of the government program. The workshop was attended by a large group of faculty lecturers in addition to the attendance of the program coordinator Dr. Amer S. Al-Amir.

Students Activities Department participated in cooperation with Mayoralty of Baghdad / Karrada Branch and University Follow-up Department, Board Affairs Department (Cleaning and Agricultural Division) at UOT, and a chief of dealing section of chemical Materials Engineering Department Lec. Hashim Sharif participated with a major volunteer work campaign, including cleaning and afforestation with the participation, attendance and supervision of Vice President for administrative affairs Prof. Dr. Abdullah Sa'adoon and numbers of lecturers and UOT staff.

The volunteers cleaned the corridor of UOT main gate (Clock Gate) overlooking Mohammed Al-Qasim highway in order to give aesthetic and environmental character decorated with flowers and shrubs, which included the lifting of waste and debris and the remains of leaves and branches of stiff trees and washing the floor of the sidewalks and Sub Street.

The lecturer touched on how to activate the platform for the University of Mustansiriya and how to activate the e-lessons with students and build human capacity in the field of e-learning where representatives of faculties of the University of Mustansiriya attended those responsible for e-learning.
