(Teachers from the University of Technology publish research in the magazine (optical materials
Prof. Iyad Zuwain Mohammed, Mohamed Galal Abdel Razzaq and lec. Khaled Salem Shabib participated in a scientific research entitled (Efficient optical fiber sensor for measuring Fe element in liquid) ) In the magazine (optical materials) issued by the Ambassador Foundation (ELSEVIER) and indexed within the Clafit base and high impact factor.
The research dealt with the construction of a precision sensor to detect iron ions in different concentrations in liquids using optical technology with very efficient optical fibers and distinct sensitivity limits, thus allowing for the construction of new optical sensors.
A lecturer from Laser Department published a scientific research in magazine (Defect and Diffusion Forum)
A lecturer from Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering Department at the University of Technology, assist.Prof. Dr. Ayad Z. Mohammed the Head of the Department published a scientific research entitled "Study Optical and Structure Properties of Nano ZnO/Cu₂O Mixture Prepared by Pulsed Laser Deposition for Application" in (Defect and Diffusion Forum) magazine, that index within SCOPS with high impact factors.
The research dealt with studying the optical and synthesis properties of zinc oxide mixture with copper oxide nanoparticles prepared by the precipitated pulsed laser technology and certain cards and study their effect and applications, thus allowing for laser applications in the fields of nanomaterial's.
University of Technology President congratulates the Iraqi journal for architecture and planning
President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Imad H. Marzah Al-Husseini congratulated the Iraq journal of Architecture and Planning issued by the University of Technology / Department of Architecture in 2019, on obtaining second rank in the Arab world in the field of engineering and information technology.
The Arabic impact factor of (IQJAP) in 2019 was (0.129) and (IQJAP) got the second rank in the specialization (Engineering Sciences and Information Technology) at the Arab level, while the average of ARCIF for this specialization was (0.060) thus the magazine has been classified under the category / First Quarter (Q1) First Quantile, Al-Husseini added.
The “Arcif” has been working on collecting, studying and analyzing the data of more than (4300) titles of an Arabic scientific or research journal in various disciplines issued by more than 1400 scientific or research commission in 20 Arab countries (except Djibouti and Comoros). 499 scientific journals succeeded to be accredited to the global standards of the Arcif in the 2019 report, Al-Husseini said.
Knowing that, The (ARCIF) is under the supervision of “the Council of Supervision and Coordination”, which consists of representatives of several Arab and international comission, including the UNESCO Regional Office for Education in the Arab States in Beirut, the United Nations Commission for West Asia (ESCWA) and the Library of Alexandria. The Maarefa Data Base, the International Specialized Libraries Association / Gulf Branch, as well as a scientific committee of experts and academics with a brilliant scientific reputation from several Arab countries and Britain.
A patent at the University of Technology
A Research team at the University of Technology gained a patent from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in the Ministry of Planning for ((design and manufacture of low-cost system to reduce the viscosity of Iraqi crude oil and improve the flow of pipelines))
The patent contained reducing the viscosity of Iraqi crude oil by shedding an electric field of a certain intensity through the design and manufacture of low-cost electrical capacitors placed inside the pipe used to shed the field on crude oil, which formed the insulation material between the electrodes of the electrolytic capacitance and composed of a perforated and coated metal plate The number and diameter of the holes are designed to allow the oil to be arranged in short chains so that the flow and friction resistance between the fluid layers and the pipe walls are reduced and so that the viscosity is reduced also. Optimal conditions were found which were 32 seconds operating time, 188 volts and 6.11 cm for distance between the capacitance electrodes, the viscosity reduction was more than 40% at 12 ° C that lasted for 11 hours.
The research team contains a teaching staff of Electromechanical Engineering Department and they were:-
1- Assist.Prof. Dr. Rahik I. Ibrahim.
2- Prof. Dr. Manal K. Ouda.
3- Lec. Aus F. Hassan.
Alumni Follow-up Unit in the Department of Chemical Engineering holds a training course on (the future of water and air pollution treatment in the world using nanotechnology)
The graduate follow-up unit in the Department of Chemical Engineering held a training course on (the future of water and air pollution treatment in the world using nanotechnology) on Tuesday, 8/9/2019 at Dar Al Salam Hall.
A lecture was given by Dr. Alaa on how to identify the latest methods used in the treatment of water and air pollution in the world using the central nanomaterials that have the highest ability to treat at the lowest quantity and cost, as well as the continuous development of these methods and conducting modern research that produces good and tangible results. In this field, at the end of the course certificates of participation were granted to graduates.
