Computer Science Department at the University of Technology held a workshop entitled e-learning in the discussion hall of the department, in the presence of the head of the department Prof. Hala Bahgat Abdel Wahab , Administrative deputy assist.Prof. Ayad Roudhan , Scientific deputy assist.Prof. Sakina Hassan Hashim, and faculty members in the department.

The workshop was delivered by assist.Prof. Adi Ali Ahmed from Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Technology ,and it contains  e-learning and how to spread the culture of e-learning for students and lecturers and the importance of students learning skills before graduation such as arranging electronic reports and organizing presentations to explain a project or homework ,and following up applying requirements and standards of quality of scientific laboratories and strive to spread the culture of e-learning within the government program.

It is noticeable that the lecturer is one of members' team of ministerial e-learning project and distance learning for life within the projects of government program of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Received an IREX grant for scientific exchange for small projects.

The Department of Construction and Projects at the University of Technology pursues the completion  of the final works for the new university park project "Building multi-floors park", which is consider the unique project in the Iraqi universities history , so it`s the first project to build vertical park consisted of six floors ,furthermore, the total area is (12000 m 2) and the area of ​​each floor (2000) m 2,in order to  occupy    large  number of professors and employees cars in the university as a result  of the limited areas and to keep pace with  the construction and service development presented by the modern construction Which  be suitable with the  construction development .

Haytham Qais ,  the engineer of the project said " That the final steps of the work is cementing concrete of the roof walls of the last floor, cementing the elevators walls , machine rooms of elevators , the completion of electrical works , sanitary , Alarm, cameras and fire extinguishing systems, indicating that the  excuted works included the completion of external entrances , frontage, the construction of two rooms on each floor for the purposes of surveillance and protection , the completion of window iron bars and aluminium windows with glass for the ground floor , stairs  covering with Granite And completion a main exit door. "

Qais added that the park witnessed frequent visits by students of the Civil Engineering Department with approximately 40 trainees and trainees for the last study year accompanied by the resident engineer of the project by visits at engineering projects sites that the department is supervising their implementation and clarifying the nature of projects and  the necessary data to prepare the positions of projects. Indicating that the training included administrative affairs for the project management of  the preparation of tender , pricing , the preparation of advances and calculation of completion average and others, noting that the goal of this training, which is excellent to see the  greatly implementation of projects for the benefit of the students through the visits to these engineering sites, He pointed out that the evaluation depends on some basic criteria such as attendance , the quality of writing engineering reports, cooperation , behavior and commitment of permanence.

The President of the University of Technology Prof. Emad Hussein Mirza Husseini presided over a meeting of the General Assembly in the Department of Laser Engineering and Optoelectronics on Wednesday 2/10/2019 in the presence of the head of the department Prof. Dr. Mohamed A. Monshed with administrative and scientific deputy and faculty members.

During the meeting, they discussed several issues related to raising the scientific level through publishing researches in international containers and discussing the difficulties faced by faculty members in order to overcome them and find appropriate solutions for them.

Dr. Iman S. Kareem participated in the 19th Al-Basel fair for Creativity and Invention, held in Damascus, Syria.

The participation was the patent show “ mechanical development of an amphibious robot for high performance and battery recharge by solar cells” ,Furthermore; the target of the project is the development of the mechanical design of the robot body and legs in addition to development the process of controlling the movement of the robot in a smooth ground and terrain as well as swimming in water efficiently.

Dr. Eman S. Karim emphasized that the project can be used by many ministries, such as the Ministry of Interior in the detection of mines and explosive devices, as well as the Ministry of Defense in the fields of the submarines for detecting drownings, in addition to the Ministry of Transportation in the field of meteorology to determine the terrain  and sensing magnetic fields.

Dt. Ali H. Atiwi from Materials Engineering Department at University of Technology, participated in the discussion of high-study student/ PhD at the University of  Baghdad / College of Engineering (Tariq Rahman Mahmoud) on his thesis titled:-

" “fracture mechanics behavior of layered spot welded steel

The discussion took place in the meeting room of Mechanical Engineering Department and the student was awarded a PhD.
