Materials Engineering Department hold workshop

Materials Engineering Department at the University of Technology and within the principle of cooperation between the ministries and in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals / Department of Industrial Development and Organization hold a workshop for the students of the final grades and aimed to spread the culture of entrepreneurship and urged young people, especially graduates to adopt their small and medium projects on proper basis.

Most important ways to support and protect Iraqi products, which aim to develop and exploit Iraqi hands and reduce importations, were discussed.

A number of lectures were given in this regard, the first one was presented by Director of SME, Ms.Nidal Hamza, about the role of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals in supporting young people to start their own projects, and the second lecture was presented by Assistant Director of Product Protection Department, Mr. Samer Mohammed, on supporting national products,  and the third one was presented by Ms. Thana Mohan, legal adviser in the Department of Industrial Development and Organization on Protecting Iraqi Products

Petroleum Technology Department Hold Seminar

Petroleum Technology Department at the University of Technology and within the activities of the cultural season held a discussion lecture in which Lect.Dr.Sondos Ibrahim presents a lecture on E-learning through the application of G classroom 2018.

The lecture aimed at achieving universal access of knowledge, engaging students in the academic content, constantly updating information and supporting interaction between tutors and learners, thus ensuring professional development, saving time, teaching students and realizing the concept of globalization of education.

She also explained that the concept of e-learning Provide educational content electronically which helps learner to interact effectively with both the content and the professor and students in the classroom

 Using this application may help to establish a virtual classroom that holds large numbers of students and without waste in the use of paper and money and the semester is limited between the an administrator for e-mails, professor and student

Msc Student Tholfaqar Nasser, from Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Technology, discussed his thesis "HIGH PERFORMANCE LUBRICATING OIL FOR MILITARY TANKS APPLICATION BY USING DIFFERENT NANOPARTICLES"

The discussion was held in DAR AL SALAM hall at the department on Nov., 8, 2018.

The discussion committee was chaired by Asst.Prof.Dr.Adnan Abdul-Jabbar and membership of Asst.Prof.Dr.Saad Hansh and Asst.Prof.Dr.Walaa Abdul-Hadi, supervised by Asst.Prof.Dr.Khalid Ajmi and Prof.Dr.Abdul-Hassan Abd Karam Allah.

The researcher showed in this study, two types of multi-walled carbon nano tubes (MWCNTs1) and (MWCNTs2) were produced from two liquid hydrocarbons (H.Cs.1 and H.Cs.2). The production process involved fuel combustion in a special combustion unit designed for this purpose. All operating parameters in this unit (temperature, fuel flow rate and oxygen required) are highly controlled.  MWCNTs were produced using several characterization techniques such as HR-TEM, XRD, FE-SEM, FTIR,

As part of the scientific and cultural activities of the first semester of the Department of Chemical Engineering for the academic year 2018-2019, the Department held a two-day course for students of the first stage in order to increase their awareness of the dangers of chemicals and the resulting accidents. The course includes many items as

Safety and security in laboratories. Classification of chemical substances and warning labels used. Explanation of the form of information statement for chemicals. Introduction to the equipment and glassware used in laboratories. Fire and fire treatment methods. First Aid. Treatment of waste generated in laboratories. At the end of the course, there was a test to the students

Electromechanical Engineering Department welcomes new students who are newly admitted students of the first stage in the presence of the Head of Department Asst.Prof.Dr.Hisham Aenaed, the scientific associated of the department Asst.Prof.Dr.Anaam Obead, Registration Section Manager Lect.Dr.Adnan Gareeb and heads of branches.

The head of the department welcomed the newly admitted students, stressing that the department seeks to graduate engineers working in various fields of industrial, electrical, oil and other feilds. He pointed out that the functions of the electromechanical engineering department are considered one of the rare specialties in Iraq and the region and are characterized by its sophistication and pace with the technological and scientific developments in the world. He stressed on the importance of students' commitment to the decisions and directives of the department and to assume scientific responsibility to be among the contributors to the building of the dear country.
