Within the seminar activity of ERC, Dr. Azhar Mahmoud Halim presented a seminar titled  "Applications in tissue culture.". The researcher showed that the tissue culture is one of the important biological techniques due to its environmental and economic effect. It is very promising to the support the global food security in providing sustainable food sources. It may also develop solutions to cope with the population explosion and the decline of the agricultural area and the lack of water sources of problems. It is help in bridging the world non-traditional agriculture in the growing global need for goods and services. The researcher showed that the tissue culture technique constitutes 34 % of the total global technologies applied in the field of sustainable agriculture. As a result of lower imports of Iraq's water and the increase in population, which offset the decline evident in the agricultural area become imperative to adopt this technology and introduce of its the applications. Its basics will ensure the success and sustainability of the entrance, because it is capable in addressing the serious problems afflicting the agricultural sector in Iraq.
