Under the auspices of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Amin Douai Thamer, ERC held a Scientific Symposium titled: "The role of scientific research in the face of environmental challenges" on Tuesday, 14/04/2015 at Jassem Hayani hall,  Division of Production and Minerals. The seminar was attended by Prof. Abdul Aziz Jassim, Deputy of Minister of Environment for Technical affairs and Dr. Hana Abdul Hussein Mahimid, Associate Director of Research and Development in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The symposium included the environmental situation of the city of Baghdad and the role of the department of research and development activities in support of environmental research and a working paper research center of environmental trends. It was followed by the opening of scientific devices exhibition in coordination with the Technical Innovation company. At the end of the seminar general discussions was made followed by the needed recommendations.
