Lecturer publishes scientific research

Dr. Mustafa Majid Al-Mukhtar, lecturer at Department of Construction in Construction Engineering at the University of Technology, published a scientific research in the magazine "Environmental Earth Sciences' entitled: (((( ))))
The researcher concluded that soil moisture is an essential component of the soil hydrological cycle in many cases. Modeling and predicting soil moisture is a major problem in the field of water resources because of the lack of measurements.
The models of artificial intelligence were characterized by being a tool to overcome this deficiency in measurements.
The main objective of this study is to determine the best method of artificial intelligence to model moisture content using synthetic data for moisture content from SWAT program. And three ways of artificial intelligence developed and compared among them to determine the best way. These methods are
FEEDFORWARD, RADIAL BASIS, LAYER RECURRENT.
Rain and wetland content were used as feedstock inputs and outputs were current moisture content. The data were divided into two parts, the first to calibrate the models and the second to the verification. The data showed that LAYER RECURRENT was the best among the used methods It is worth noting that the magazine has an impact of 1.65 and is published by Springer Publishing House
