Effect
of NanoZrO2 Addition on the
Structural and Mechanical Properties of TiC |
In this
paper the titanium carbide with addition of nanozirconia were
fabricated by conventional
powder metallurgy techniques. The
structural of TiC with nanoZrO2 addition has been investigated
by XRD.
Microhardness, compression strength
and wear rate were measured. Results of XRD reveal
formation of ZrC when added nanoZrO2
to titanium carbide. The apparent density increases with
increasing additive of nano
ZrO2 until reach to 4wt.% then reduce.
Results show that mechanical
properties increase with increasing nano ZrO2
addition to titanium carbide then decrease at 6wt.% |
