The President of the University of Technology chaired the meeting of the General comission in the Department

A meeting of the General Comission in the Department of Computer Sciences on Thursday 09-18-2014 conducted under the chairmanship of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Ameen Douai Thamer on (Dr. Imad Khadum Jabbar) Hall with the presence of the head of the department Prof. Abdel Moneim S. Rahma and both deputies and the heads of branches and members of the faculty and employees of the department.

At the begining of the meeting the head of the department welcomed, Mr. President of the University, which in turn he congratulated the audience on the occasion of the new academic year 2014-2015 and stressed the importance of the meetings of General Commitees and its positive role in informing members of the university on the general situation of the university. The presedent of the university also pointed that the website of the Computer Sciences department is one of the leading websites in the university and he confirmed that the websites are very important and the experience that succeed in computer sciences department should be shifted to the other departments because the language of the age is the computer language, and the university formed a committee to follow up with the websites of the university departments.

The university presedent then pointed out the achievements of the university like establishing a memoranda of understanding with international universities like (Missouri University, Fraamark in Germany and other American and Belarus universities), as well as granting a number of scholarship for the university staff abroad to take developmental courses. At the conclusion of his speech he focused on the independence of the University of Technology and the University can not overdo any of its departments, specially an important one such as the Department of Computer Sciences, which is pushing the university service and community service as a whole.

At this meeting, The head of the department and the scientific and administrative deputies pointed out several points, including:

• Follow-up with the commitment of the students uniforms
• The need to update the lectures by faculty on the department's website
• The need to update the biographies of the teaching staff and include the latest scientific researches that they published with a hyperlink to disply the research
• take care of students graduation projects and the necessity that it contain references of researches published in the University Journal

The deputy of the head of the department for administrative affairs also reviewed the achievements with regards to sustainability, innovation and the opening of a new laboratory in the department and also pointed out the follow-up of supervisors to the graduate students and to inform the department in case of a student is absent for a long time.
