 Scientific reports of the delegates of the employees of the department |
Under the recommendation of university No. 1791 / P. S. at 12.10.2015, Asst. Prof. Dr. Inaam Akram Sabri was sent to participate in the Second International Conference for the Department of Building, Construction and Environment in collaboration with the American University in Lebanon for the period from 17 to 10/18/2015, according to the invitation to attend and participate in the conference.
Below is a brief explanation of the program and activities of the conference:
Departure was on Friday 16/10/2015 from Baghdad International Airport and access to Beirut International Airport by twelve o'clock at noon, While the corresponding return was on Monday, 19/10/2015 by twelve o'clock at Baghdad International Airport.
Conference Proceedings:
On Friday, 16/10/2015 was the opening of exhibition for contributed companies to the support of the conference in order to display the most important projects that are completed in the field of construction and water treatment. The most significant company is Veolia Company for water treatment.
On Saturday, 17/10/2015 was the opening of the conference at nine o'clock in the morning with the presence of a representative of the President of the University of Technology, Asst. Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan, the assistant of the University's president for scientific affairs and postgraduate studies with the presence of a representative of the American University / Dean of the College of Engineering at the American University, prof. Dr. Ghassan Shehab and prof. Dr. Riyad Al-Anbari, the chairman of the preparatory committee of the conference. Speeches were directed by the Dean of the College of Engineering at the American University and a representative of the president of the University of Technology, as well as Chairman of the preparatory committee of the conference.
The opening of the conference was started with an opening lecture, which was given by Prof. Dr. Riyad al-Mahdi entitled (The multi – axis substructure testing system), and after that the activities of conference sessions were initiated to deliver the scientific researches.
The participation researches were presented – about 151 scientific research from various Arab, foreign, and domestic countries – and note that the number of conference sessions are 18 meetings, which were presented the researches according to the following five themes:
1- Structural Engineering.
2- Water Resources Engineering and Environmental Engineering.
3- Transportation and Geometrics Engineering.
4- Geotechnical Engineering.
5- Building Material Engineering.
The conference sessions were continued into 5 pm. On Sunday 18/10/2015 the conference sessions began with an opening lecture, which was given via Veolia Company entitled (Water Technology). It was cloned the offer made by the company to take advantage of it at the University of Technology. The conference sessions were then continued into 3 pm. The conference was concluded with the important recommendations and distribution of distinction certificates to the participants.
