Laboratories of Computers

1st year’s syllabus in chemical engineering department includes lecturing pupils 3 hrs/week theory in class and  3 hrs/week practical at lab which will make the students to apply what he has been taught in the classroom. The laboratory contains 27 desktop computers (P4) to be used by 25 students. In the lab a data show is used for tutoring the students whereas the theory aspects are taught on 1st semester which include:

1.       Introductory on the main components of what the computer consists of such as hardware components, software components, and input/outputs units. The lectures will also include an introduction on the available working system software (i.e., windows) where the student will be capable to use this system in an efficient manner in addition to be able to create, copy, paste, open, and close files.

2.       The syllabus will also include teaching on some office Microsoft such as Power Point, Excel and Word.

3.       Then the student will receive an introduction to one of the most powerful language in computer’s languages which is the visual basic that started as basic and then became visual basic which is a video language, very simple to be learned, powerful and popular too.

Through this learning program the students will be capable to interact with many things or components to change it as he likes through adopting groups of commands that constitute the software later on. The laboratory’s training program also includes training the students on how to perform engineering drawings using AutoCAD software.
