Six faculty members of Building and Construction Engineering Department has been sent to participate in the International Conference for Technology and Science sponsored by the International Journal of Arts & Sciences (IJAS) in Germany from 1^st to 4^th, December /2015.

 The faculty members who participated in that conference are: Prof. Dr. Shaker Ahmed Saleh, prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Tarish Zibon, assistant prof. Dr. Mahmoud Salih Mahdi, assistant prof. Dr. Mahmoud Rashid Mahmood, assistant prof. Dr.  Jafar Sadiq Matouq, and assistant prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Mahmoud. The conference was held at the Catholic Academy in Freiburg. The first session consisted an opening lecture titled “Explaining the Technical to the Non-Technical” presented by the sponsor of this conference. The representatives of our department have also presented their research work including the research topics titled “Flexural Property of Carbon Dioxide Cured Cementitious Boards Reinforced with Glass or Carbon Fibers” presented by Prof. Dr. Shakir Ahmed Saleh, “Experimental Study of Model Piled Raft Foundation Embedded Within Partially Saturated Cohesion Soils” presented by assistant professor Dr. Mahmoud Rashid Mahmood, “Impervious Surfaces Estimation Model for Al-Kufa City Utilizing Remote Sensing Technique” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Mehdi and Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Tarish Zibon, and “ Remediation of Cohesive Soils Using Waste Glass” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Mahmood. The participation of our staff in that conference was a good chance to get to know professors and researchers from other countries all around the world to cooperate and exchange information and scientific communication.
