A Teacher from Energy Technology Center published a research in the global magazine about the impact of physical properties of the dust on the performance of solar cells

A teacher from Energy and Renewable Energy Technology Center at the University of Technology published Prof.lectur. Meqdam Tariq Gaghan a search about a practical analyze of physical impact properties of the dust on the performance of solar cells to the north of Oman in the solar energy magazine analysis, one of the magazines published by Al-safeer company, one of the solar Organization magazines of the United Nations and it has the effect of Thomson Reuter coefficient of 4.4
The researcher said that the accumulation of dust on the solar cell cause reducing the light transmittance through the glass cell resulting in a decline in the efficiency of the cell.
He added that the main source of dust is the wind blowing sand particles and dust from the ground. And be coarse dust particles with a diameter greater than 2 microns. Chemical-light reactions of pollutants and dry drops of sea water laden salts produces atoms salt and contaminants stuck, and this species is one of the smallest particles, which constitutes a diameter less than 2 microns. And that the physical properties of the dust, such as specific weight and shape of partial and content of moisture and borders sulfides and the fluid and the size of the usual dust particles vary from one place to another across the land. These differences are caused by topographic, geological and environmental conditions of each area. The weight and shape of dust particles a significant impact on the deposition method and the performance of the solar cell.
In this study it has been estimated the energy losses caused by the accumulated dust on solar cell surfaces in Oman.
