A Teacher from the Technology gained a PhD degree about concrete sills deep strengthening using carbon fiber

A dissertation in Building and Construction Engineering Department at the University of Technology discussed concrete sills deep strengthening using carbon fiber for the student Ahlam Sadder Mohammed in an excellent degree.
The researcher who gained PhD with honors showed that the armed materials with fibers of carbon, or what is called (FRP) the most important and modern materials used effectively in strengthening and rehabilitation concrete constrictions for the purpose of improving the structure behavior and increase unsustainable external loads.
The dissertation aimed to find alternative methods that are more modern, speed of implementation, high techniques, and suitable cost for the purpose of strengthening concrete structures.
The dissertation includes two parts (practical and theoretical) to study the behavior of concrete sills deep armed and strengthening externally with slices of carbon fiber (CFRP) the effect of shear stress zones.
The results of practical study showed that the presence of carbon fibers led to increase the bearable ability of armed sills and reinforced with this fiber to 50% compared unarmed sills for each case change shear space relative to the depth influential.
