A Thesis at Building and Construction Engineering Department at the University of Technology discussed Assessment and develops the performance of project management offices in Iraqi general contracting companies.
The research aims to understand the role of the Office of Project Management in the Iraqi general contracting companies and its impact on the output of construction projects, and the management team of this project from the perspective of modern project management.
The research pointed that this study has been in Iraq to assess the location of Management projects Office and develop a sample to evaluate the performance indicators in construction projects, and it was focused community is the Iraqi oil construction sector, the oil company projects belonging to the Ministry of Oil, is a sample of research and with the organizational structure of the matrix consisting of four offices for project management in bodies of central and geography of different tasks.
the researcher mentioned that he has developed four samples to measure the performance of the projects indicators, and the developed samples by the researcher at this research is give an assessment of the institution relatively during short time and effort, and the role of the Project Management Office in the organization in this regard, and then it can be used for decision-making whether the institution will invest in improving the tools of project management, it can be determine if it is the institute will be invest in improving tools of project management, so it can be identify how much can decrease the cost and the project time when improve the project management tools applications and apply another new tools, and moving to a higher level and how much will the institute win when it move to upper level in project management.
