Governor
of Baghdad, Mr. Ali Mohsen al-Tamimi, honored head of the University of
Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer, his scientific Assistant Prof.
Dr. Wisam Kazem Hamdan and administrative assistant Prof. Dr. Sami
Waheed Hasnawi, department heads and top students in engineering and
scientific departments at the University of Technology for the academic
year 2013 / 2014 on Sunday, 11.23.2014 at the ceremony which was held at
the City Hall in the presence of a number of advisors and members of the
provincial council.
the ceremony was begun by reading a verse of the Holy Quran followed by
a speech by the governor of Baghdad, Mr. Ali Mohsen al-Tamimi in which
he said: We are keen to establish this ceremony to honor all those who
contributed to the continuation of the scientific process and the
recognition of our students who were awake the nights to get these high
grades, and did have this superiority with High effort of professors who
supervised them, we believe today that the support for students and
universities is something important because they are the future leaders
who are going to build a new Iraq.
Then the President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Douai
Thamer made speech in which he spoke: The building of nations depends on
science and education and the establishment of an advanced country
should be referred only to science, university of technology got a
remarkable progress in a short period in the classification between
international, Arab,and Iraqi universities, that was a result of
outstanding efforts from department heads and the rest of the university
professors.
He added: governor of Baghdad honoring to students of the University is
nothing new,he is the shepherd of scientific and engineering projects,
and we at the University of Technology are active in Iraqi society
service in all research trends and in providing advice to the
governorate of Baghdad and all provinces in order to build an advanced
and modern Iraq.
At the end of his speech, he thanked those in charge of the ceremony and
wished the luck for all the present and continued success in their
business.
Then the student Mohammed Khudair of the Electrical Engineering
Department made speech in which he referred to the significant role of
the parents for their students through moral support and support in the
most difficult circumstances, as well as the unique role of the heads of
departments and professors to facilitate and provide the conditions
Appropriate for the study, thanking on behalf of all the present
students the governor of Baghdad for this distinguished honor, which
gives us the motivation to complete the scientific moral march.
Then, the poet Mohsen Jurani said a poem in which he showed the favor of
Iraqi scientist separately from the rest of the world scientists in all
countries.
At the end of the ceremony, the president of university of technology
Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer presented the shield to the governor of
Baghdad, Professor Ali Mohsen al-Tamimi in appreciation of his
outstanding efforts in support of the university, also presented the
shield for the Baghdad Provincial Council received by Deputy Chairman of
the Board Dr. Falah al-Qaisi, as well as honoring the administrative
vice-province Baghdad, as well as the University Shield presented to the
Education Committee in the provincial council, also presented another
shield to the private counselor of Governor, who is one of UOT
graduates.
It is noted that the top graduates in the university for the academic
year 2013-2014 "peace and development cycle," were:
Saif Raed Saeed Baqir the first of the university and the Department of
Applied Science,he collected 93.705, and the second of the university
Hussein Ali Hadi Hassan of Electromechanical Engineering Department and
got 90.941, and third of the University Hammam Hussein Mohammed Faraj,
from the Department of Building Engineering and Construction, he
collected 90.889.
The Tops in the rest of university department were: Abu Bakr Saeb Issa
Hassan from the Department of Computer Science 89.846, and Nadine Jaafar
Ismail Hamoudi from the Department of Materials Engineering 88.316,
Mohammed Khudair Rashid Dysh of the Department of Electrical Engineering
86.307, Eman Ahmed Abdul-Sahib Ruda of the Department of Machinery
Engineering and equipment 85.603, Saif Saad al-Mahdi Saeed of chemical
Engineering department 85.581, Osama Hatem Hussein Ali of the Department
of Production Engineering and metals 85.473, Ahmed Razak Sahel oil
technology 84.494 department, Mustafa Karim Khashan Mutlaq from the
Department of control engineering and systems 83.905, Rania Rooney Aziz
Hanna of the Department of Computer Engineering 83.012, Hadia Basil Ali
